This is a meeting to follow up our meeting last week on our TPP grievances. This time we are looking to get quite a few people out there. Show them that we have alot of people who are not only aware of the tpp is about but upset about it as well.
MSG FROM LINDSEY
I am sending a revised (more polite) rendition of the email I've been working on for them today at lunch. That will give them the afternoon to look over what I have to say. Feel free to email them as well! I can provide their email addresses here if you need them. I will also let them know that a few of us are coming to talk to them tomorrow at 11am...just to give them a heads up.
I will be in touch with the Pearl Police Department today, just to ensure we know all the rules going in. We shouldn't be too big of a crowd...I'm only expecting 5-10 people...but I want to be sure that we've done our due diligence to work with the community.
I anticipate this being a fairly low-key, but memorable, rally for Harper's office and staff. Come prepared to talk with his staff, especially those who are constituents...even if it is just to say that you strongly encourage Rep. Harper to vote "no" on fast-tracking the TPP...that is our focus for this week...no fast-track! Let us be calm, courteous, yet firm. I've already shared many of their talking points here for you, so you may be prepared to back up your position if they ask.
Remember that we are with no particular organization...we are a group of concerned citizens. Do not feel inclined to tell anyone who you are, unless you are consitituent and want to give your name to Harper's staff for a statement. There is plenty of parking at Harper's office, as well as the public library down not too far down the street.
Just FYI, we are also planning a rally at Harper's office this Friday, to coincide with the international event, although I haven't posted an event on Facebook yet because I didn't want people to be confused. I will see about potential participation in Friday's event after seeing everyone at the rally tomorrow. If you have any questions, just give me a call at 662-694-9249. Reply Reply all
